The Museum Store @ TMA Presents
May 2 -June 2, 2019
Phoenix-based mixed-media eco-art activist Heather Freitas uses recycled materials to produce artworks about issues surrounding waste and human impact on the environment. Using the very materials that pollute drives her message about reuse and recycling to reverse harmful trends. Freitas believes that art can be influential in making a difference in the world, not only documenting, but using creativity to formulate real solutions to critical contemporary issues, and she is just getting started.
The collection of works on view at the Museum Store depict endangered or extinct cacti from around the world—a soft, but prickly subject for southern AZ.
